Dancing with the Stars is Red Hot!!

On Monday September 22, 2008 was the seventh season premire of Dancing with the Stars and it was awesome. The two-hour event introduced thirteen stars and their partners dancing the fox drot or the cha-cha. I think it's amazing how reality television more than other type of show tries to fit in interactive media in the show. Every contestant on Dancing with the Stars had a number to call. Some cellular phone companies are getting into the game as well, with contracting with television shows and having the audience texting who they want to vote for. I think Dancing with the Stars is the only show that brings in the internet, which is a great move on their part. Some people do not like to call or text and feel that the internet is much faster. I assume that shows like American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, will somehow tie in the internet and go interactive just like Dancing with the Stars has.

Pueblo Chieftian going interactive

Living in Pueblo, Colorado many read the local paper, the Pueblo Chieftian. Well many people do not like to hang out and read the paper with their cup of coffee anymore. They feel that they are too busy which is correct because many Americans are running around. This past week the Pueblo Chieftian offered early retirement to about 55 workers including; sales, writers, advertising, and sports. The reasoning behind this was because the Pueblo Chieftian does not feel that enough people are reading the paper to even out the wages of the employees. Many Puebloians now take time at work or home and log on to a computer and read the paper on the internet and become interactive.

Selling a Plane on Ebay

There was a rally in Colorado Springs, Colorado this past Saturday (September 6, 2008). Over 25,000 thousand people went to hear the Republican Presidental canidate, McCain, and his running mate of Alaska, Governer Sarah Palin. I went to the rally and it was definetly an intense atmosphere to be around. I was not able to get into the hanger where they were speaking, so I anixiously waited outside to hear them speak to the crowd. Governer Sarah Palin is an amazing woman, I admire how she has a family, a rising career, and does not let the left wing media take jabs at her without speaking her mind about it. Many people don't realize that she was serious about putting her plane on ebay. I thought that was awesome because she doesn't need any luxrious planes or any items like that for her family. Palin put it on ebay but it did not sell, instead someone in Alaska bought the plane for $2.1 million.

Meeting Jackie O

Hey hey hey, my name is Jackie Obrin but most people call me Jackie O. I am a junior at Colorado State University- Pueblo. I am majoring in Mass Communications with a double empasis in Broadcasting and New Media. Being a broadcast emphasis I have so many opportunities surrounding me. I am currently working for the college radio station REV 89. Every dj is fun and easy going and the best part is every student is part of the Mass Communication department seeking something different. I am looking into doing an internship with a radio station my senior year, I would love to work for a country station. Knowing what to do after I graduate is hard right now, because I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up. At one point in time in my life, I wanted to own a bar, another time I wanted to be a police officer. Right now in my life I have a passion for making opening credits to television shows, which is where the New Media emphasis comes into play. So right now in my life I am concertrating on being young, in college, and working towards the goals in my life.

I am a huge believer of faith and Karma. I am pro-life, and pro-choice. I am a tom-boy at heart; my favorite sports are football, basketball, and swimming. My gradfather was a PE teacher so he always had my sister and I active. I also remember sitting down with him and watching football film. So needless to say, I am so excited for the comeback of football at CSU-P. I use to play basketball in middle school until I got injured so I became a swimmer. I swam on my highschool girls swim team throughout highschool. Along with swimming I became a lifeguard. I have been a lifeguard for five years and have made many saves. Now that I am getting older I have decided to retire from getting paid to tan, and get a real job with a college degree.
